Bully Free GCSD

Each of our campuses work with students to increase awareness and education regarding student health and safety.

Our high school contributes to the Youth Voices Speak Out each school year. Check out the Moab Sun News article on the second annual event last year.

Youth Voices Speak Out is a community forum on prevention, well-being and resiliency. The event will feature information on mental health, substance abuse and bullying from the school district’s school-based therapists, as well as tips and tools for parents.

Listen on KZMU -

Local guidance counselors Marva Lewis and Derrick Cook drop by the KZMU studios to talk about the serious issues some students grapple with – bullying, substance abuse, depression and thoughts of suicide. They say an event next week – Youth Voices Speak Out – aims to shed light on these issues while also highlighting the resources the school district has available. Expect student performances and a question and answer session with Grand County’s school based therapists. Tune in to learn more.

Every October, individuals from across the nation – and around the world – unite in a campaign to keep all youth safe from bullying.

The campaign is a catalyst for:
  • Involving a nation to take action at the local level to create safe and supportive schools
  • Offering information and education about how everyone can prevent bullying
  • Providing a platform to hold school and community events
  • Sharing information about the issue through news media, social media, videos and print publications
  • Talking with education and public policy leaders about their roles in bullying prevention
  • Promoting dialogue between educators, parents and students on their roles in addressing and preventing bullying
  • Encouraging organizations to share information about their bullying prevention resources
  • Inspiring everyone to unite for kindness, acceptance and inclusion
  • Helping to create a world without bullying
