In conjunction with the Moab Free Health Clinic, Grand Area Mentoring will be holding a session on "Understanding ADHD: From Theory to Practice". Dr. Joe Roberts, an experienced pediatrician, will help mentors, volunteers, and employees from other agencies understand how to work with children diagnosed with or exhibiting ADHD behavior.
He will cover:
- Signs and symptoms
- Treatments, medications, and side effects
- Associated problems (like mood swings, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem)
- Mentoring tips!
- Dr. Roberts’ contact info for later individual consults
The training will last one hour. It will be offered on Bring your own snacks. There will time for a question and answer session at the end.
