A Year in Mentoring

Grand County School District closes its first year in mentoring on June 3 with the end of the 2005/2006 academic year. This has been a wonderful year of growth for GrandAM, having gained 33 mentors and as many mentees since the program kicked off November 1, 2005.

The one-on-one relationships supported by GrandAM have given students the opportunity to enjoy healthy relationships with responsible adults and gain academic and social confidence while building self-esteem.

If asked, however, the students would probably tell you that they simply had fun with their mentors. And that's the beauty of mentoring; the rewards of the relationshiop are endemic to being constructive and creative with an adult role model who really cares about the future of out students.

Below you'll see images of student, mentors, staff, advisory committee members from the 05/06 year. Some photos were taken on field trips or during group activities sponsored by GrandAM.
