STUDENT TEST INFORMATION
Utah Performance Assessment System for Students (U-PASS) makes up the assessment and data foundation for reporting
results of the state’s accountability system, and includes six major assessment programs:
1. Core Assessment Criterion-Referenced Tests (CRTs) test reading / language arts, mathematics, and science.
2. Direct Writing Assessment tests core curriculum standards for writing.
3. Norm-Referenced Achievement Test (Iowa Test of Basic Skills - ITBS)
4. Utah Basic Skills Competency Test given to 10th grade students who must pass the test in order to receive a diploma.
5. Utah Alternate Assessment for special needs students.
6. National Assessment of Educational Progress(NAEP), mandated by state law, for grades 4 and 8 in selectedl Utah schools.

Scores indicate the percentage of students at each grade level and subject who scored at proficient levels as specified by Utah's Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Plan. | 2.
