- JOB SUMMARY*
- Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs a variety of preventive maintenance activities, emergency repairs to maintain the HVAC system in school plants in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
- On time schedule approved with supervisor, performs service on all HVAC equipment.
- Keeps a record of repair, replacement and dates of service.
- Keeps a record of current refrigerants and where and when used.
- Performs minor mechanical and electrical repairs on kitchen and custodial equipment.
- Deals with emergency repair problems with efficiency.
- Estimates cost of repair projects in terms of labor and material.
- Keeps a clean and safe working environment.
- Drives a car, pickup or other vehicles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Not limited to the following:
- Physical ability to perform the above listed essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.

- Facility to see and read fine print and work with small component parts.
- Demonstrate normal depth perception.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate small objects and handle tools safely.
- Facility to drive a car, pickup truck or other vehicle.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Necessary to Performance of Essential Functions:
- 1. Must hold certificate of training in all heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
- Must hold a license to purchase and install all commercial refrigerant gasses.
- Must have some electrical background.
- One year of experience in manual work.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Hold and maintain a Utah Driver's License appropriate to the duties performed.

Desirable Knowledge & Abilities:
- Previous experience in public school system or institute of higher education.
- A general knowledge of repair techniques.
- Valid Utah Driver's License.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to use materials and equipment with skill and efficiency.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions and specific rules, regulations and processes and apply them to a variety of situations.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Ability to drive a car, pickup truck and other vehicles.
